- On March 11, 2010, the Government of Canada ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) at the United Nations, “reaffirming the universality, indivisibility, interdependence and interrelatedness of all human rights and fundamental freedoms and the need for persons with disabilities to be guaranteed their full enjoyment without discrimination.”

- The Journal of the International AIDS Society launched its thematic series on HIV and Disability, with the aim to raise awareness about issues relating to HIV and disabilities. This series presents a number of papers (details below) to provide readers with an update of developments in the field. These papers explore this central issue through a range of perspectives, including Law, African Studies, Public Policy and Public Health.
All of the articles published by the Journal of the International AIDS Society are open access and freely accessible online at www.jiasociety.org.
