HIV and rehabilitation: changing the future of HIV prevention, care, treatment and support

There is still no cure for HIV/AIDS. But new drug treatments are helping people to live longer and with a better quality of life.

However, for many people living with HIV, periods of good health are often interrupted by periods of illness or disability. Rehabilitation can make a difference – by helping people with HIV to remain healthy, participate in the workforce and be active in their homes and communities.

The Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) brings together the traditionally separate worlds of HIV, disability and rehabilitation.

Through its leadership in research, education and cross-sector partnerships, CWGHR is working to address the rehabilitation needs of people living with HIV – and changing the future of HIV prevention, care, treatment and support.
